MOTHER'S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM 
3 c. milk heated until a scum forms
3 tbsp. cornstarch with enough to stir
2 tsp. vanilla
1 pt. pure cream
Pinch of salt
4 eggs, well beaten
2 c. sugar

Add cornstarch to milk and heat. Remove from heat and add other ingredients. Pour into a 1-gallon freezer and fill the remainder with milk until 1-inch form top of the freezer. Pack with plenty of snow or ice and take turns turning the freezer until the mixture is of correct consistency for your ice cream.
