OKRA AND TOMATOES 
1 onion, diced
3 tbsp. butter or bacon fat
1/2 lb. okra, sliced
3 c. tomatoes (canned or fresh)
Pinch sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Saute onion in fat. Add okra and fry 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper. Cover and cook 15 minutes. Remove cover and let simmer 5 minutes longer. Makes 6 servings.
