BLACK CHERRY PIE 
1 qt. black cherries, pitted
1/2 c. water
3/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
Baked pie shell

Simmer 1 cup of cherries and 1/2 cup water for 3 minutes. Blend sugar, cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Add to boiling mixture. Boil 1 minute.

Stir constantly. Cool. Spread cream cheese over bottom of cooled baked pie shell. Stir cherries (2 1/2 cups) in cooled mixture and put in pie shell.

Refrigerate 2 hours until firm.
