SPAM AND NOODLE CASSEROLE | |
We love this recipe and make it all the time. It's so good, easy, and cheap! Tastes great hot or cold and keeps really well. Some keys to it that make a big difference is you want to use egg noodles or a really firm noodle to support the sauce, and you want to use a good deal of butter when sautéing the vegetables. Other than that I play around with the recipe all the time adding other stuff or using other soups. I never liked spam before now I eat it all the time. Enjoy! 1 pkg. egg noodles (I like Dutch) 1 large onion 3 large celery stalks 4 tbsp. (1/2 stick) butter salt and pepper, to taste 1 can Spam, chopped or diced 1 (10 oz.) can condensed cream of chicken soup 1 (10 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup Cook noodles in separate pan. Chop or dice and sauté onion and celery in good amount of butter on medium-high heat, adding salt and seasonings as you like. When its just about done add chopped or diced Spam, cooking all-together a few minutes. Add both cans of condensed soup and cook a few more minutes. Drain cooked but firm noodles and put them in a casserole dish, then pour spam/veg/soup mixture on top. Bake at 300°F for 45 minutes or so. Feeds 5. Submitted by: Alex and Jim |
