1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. nuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine all ingredients in order given. Mix thoroughly. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for approximately 10 minutes.
