FRENCH BREAD
1 c. hot water
1 c. lukewarm water
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
4 c. flour

In mixing bowl, put 1 cup hot water and add butter, sugar and salt. Dissolve 1 package yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Mix the two together when hot water becomes lukewarm. Add 4 cups of flour; mix well. Knead dough until soft, 5 minutes. Set to rise.

Punch down dough every 10 minutes until 5 times. Then after 10 minutes, divide into 2 balls. Let rise for 10 minutes. Roll each ball into a rectangle with a rolling pin. Roll as a jelly roll. Seal each end and score loaf with a knife. Place both rolls on a cookie sheet. Let rise 1 1/2 hours. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
