ROAST BEEF 
5-8 lb. beef, rolled roast

Rub cast iron pan with garlic. Add 1 to 3 tablespoons water and sprinkle over meat 1 package dry onion soup mix. Bake 2 to 3 hours at 350 degrees. Turn once.

Make gravy from drippings and 2 tablespoons flour and milk or water, salt and pepper.

Beef chuck is excellent as pot roast, either in slow cooker or cast iron pan. After roast has cooked 1/2 hour or so add potatoes and carrots and 1 onion, cut in fourths. Place around meat. Add 1 can mushroom soup which has been diluted and warmed with 1/2 cup milk. Cook until tender 2 to 3 hours.
