RICE PILAF 
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. onion
1 c. uncooked rice
2 tbsp. turmeric
1 bay leaf
2 qts. water
1 bouillon cube
Salt and pepper

Place butter in casserole dish and melt. Add seasonings and onions to rice. Place in casserole. Add bay leaf. Dissolve bouillon in boiling water and pour over rice. Cover tightly with foil and bake. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes and remove bay leaf. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
