MACAROON COOKIE BARS 
1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/4 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9-inch pan. In a large mixing bowl combine the cake mix, softened butter and 1 egg. Mix at low speed until well combined. Mixture will be crumbly. Press evenly into the bottom of the greased pan.

In a smaller bowl, combine the condensed milk, vanilla and egg and beat until smooth. Stir in 1 cup of the coconut and the nuts; pour mixture over crust. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup coconut over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely. Cut into bars. Yield: 36 bars.
