CLASSIC FRENCH DRESSING 
3/4 c. olive or salad oil
1/4 c. cider or wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Into a small bowl or a covered jar, measure all ingredients. Stir with a fork or cover and shake until thoroughly mixed. Cover and chill. Stir or shake the dressing just before serving.
