Combine: 1 c. sugar 2 1/4 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 3/8 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon Beat in: 2/3 c. shortening 2 eggs 2/3 c. milk 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Add 3 raw apples, pared, chopped. Pour into 13 x 9 inch pan. Mix topping together and cover cake in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. 1 tbsp. melted butter 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/3 c. brown sugar 2 tsp. flour 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional) 1/4 c. rolled oats |
