BARBECUE SPARERIBS 
4 pounds spareribs
3 large onions
1 cup ketchup
1 cup water
1/3 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons vinegar
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons dry mustard

Cut spareribs into serving-size pieces then sauté in a cast iron pan or metal casserole (with an oven-proof handle).

Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs in pan.

Cover and bake for 90 minutes (or until tender) in 350°F oven. About every 20 to 30 minutes spoon sauce over ribs while baking.

Remove lid for last 15 minutes of cooking time.
