APPLE CRISP 
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. quick oatmeal
1/3 c. butter
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
10-12 apples, peeled & sliced

Mix sifted flour, soda, baking powder with brown sugar. Cut in butter as for pie crust. Mix in oatmeal and apples. Place in a low pan, approximately 9 x 13 inch. Sprinkle with white sugar and cinnamon. Cover pan 15 minutes to allow the apples to steam. Then bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes, until apples are soft and crust is crisp. The variety of apples will determine the baking time needed.
