PDQ PICKLES 
1 tbsp. mixed pickling spice
3/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground turmeric

4 cups desired vegetables:

Zucchini slices
Cucumber slices
Whole cherry tomatoes
Tomato wedges
Sm. onion rings
Carrot sticks

Tie mixed pickling spices in cheesecloth. In saucepan combine pickling spice bag, vinegar, sugar, salt and turmeric; bring to boiling. Simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat; pour over desired vegetables. Cool to room temperature. Store in covered container in refrigerator. Remove spice bag before serving. Makes about 4 cups.
