HOMEMADE BREAD 4 LOAVES 
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1 1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. water (cool)
1/4 lb. butter
1/4 c. honey
1 tbsp. salt
2 eggs
10 c. flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon sugar to get yeast started. Scald milk and butter in pan. Break eggs into 2 cups measuring cup and beat. Add water, salt and honey. Add to hot milk. Put flour into large pan and form well into center. Add liquids and yeast. Stir to make stiff dough. Cover pan. Put in warm place (turn oven to warm for 5 minutes) for 1-2 hours or until double in size.

Turn onto floured board and knead for 10 minutes until satiny adding flour as needed so dough won't stick. Put dough in pan and let rise again (1 1/2 hours) when dough is up, turn it out on board and divide into 4 parts. Form into loaves and put in greased pans, let rise again until it comes to top of pans. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. Turn out on rack to cool. While still hot brush tops with melted butter. This keeps crusts soft.
