4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. butter 1 pkg. dry yeast 4 tbsp. warm water 4 eggs, separated 1/2 c. sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sugar 1 c. finely ground nuts 1 tsp. almond extract Confectioners sugar Stir flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in butter. Dissolve yeast in water; stir in egg yolks, sour cream and vanilla. Blend into flour mixture. Refrigerate 1 hour. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold in nuts. Divide dough into 8 parts. Roll each into 9 inch circle on board sprinkled with confectioners sugar. Cut circle into 12 wedges. Spread heaping teaspoon on each. Roll, beginning at wide end. Bake on lightly greased baking sheet for 10 to 12 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Makes 8 dozen cookies. |
