BLACK WALNUT - COCONUT CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 1 c. vegetable oil 4 eggs, beaten 3 c. plain flour 1/2 tsp. salt, soda & baking powder 1 c. buttermilk 1 c. black walnuts 1 c. coconut 2 tsp. coconut flavoring Beat well the sugar, oil and eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Add nuts and coconut. Bake in 350 degree oven 1 hour and 5 minutes. Pour syrup over hot cake and let stand 4 hours. SYRUP: Boil 5 minutes: 1/2 c. water 2 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. coconut flavoring |
