CHERRY SQUARES | |
2 sticks butter 1 1/2 c. white sugar 4 eggs, beaten 2 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla or lemon or orange extract 1 can pie filling (cherry or blueberry or pineapple or whatever you choose to use) 1/2 c. nuts (opt.) In large bowl cream butter, sugar, eggs, flour, extract and nuts. Blend well. Spread batter in long pan, 15 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 1 1/2", greased. Cut surface batter into 24 squares. Spoon pie filling in center of each square during baking batter puffs around pie filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cool and cut into squares. Can use Cool Whip on top. |
