BUTTER COOKIES (CUT OUT) | |
3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. butter 3/4 c. sugar 1 egg, unbeaten 1 tbsp. milk 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Sift together first three ingredients. Cream together butter and sugar. Stir in egg, milk and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients gradually. If desired, chill for easier handling. Roll out on a floured surface, one third at a time, to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle with colored sugars or cake decorations. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes until delicate golden brown. Makes 6 to 7 dozen. |
