NUT BUTTER BALLS 
1 c. soft butter (may use half Crisco)

1/2 c. sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

2 tbsp. vanilla

2 c. sifted flour

1-2 c. finely chopped walnuts, pecans or black walnuts

Mix butter with sugar until creamy. Add salt, vanilla, flour and nuts; mix well. Refrigerate until easy to handle. Using hands, shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until light brown. While cookies are still warm, roll in powdered sugar. These keep well and are especially nice at Christmas time.
