AMERICAN APPLE PIE 
Pie pastry for 2 crusts
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
6 c. pared, sliced tart apples
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Line a deep 9 inch pie pan with pastry and fill with mixture of apples, sugars, flour, and cinnamon. Dot with butter. Adjust the gashed top crust and crimp edges. Sprinkle top with a little cinnamon sugar and bake at 425 degrees about 45 minutes or until apples are tender. When edges are desired color of brown, cover them with aluminum foil and continue to bake.
