SWEET AND SOUR RED CABBAGE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. wine vinegar
1 tbsp. salt
1 c. water
1 lg. head red cabbage
1/2 c. onions
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 3/4 c. sliced apple

Shred cabbage. Melt butter in large saucepan, add onions, saute until light brown. Add cabbage and all remaining ingredients. Toss. Simmer 1 1/4 hours.
