OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked oatmeal
1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 lg. eggs
1 3/4 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. nuts (optional)
12 oz. chocolate chips

Pour boiling water over oatmeal; let sit for 10 minutes. Add brown sugar, sugar, and butter. Stir until butter melts. Add eggs, mix well. Add flour, soda, salt and cocoa to sugar mixture and mix well. Add 1/2 package of chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
