HERB STUFFED MEAT PIE | |
1 egg 1/2 c. milk 2 1/2 c. herb seasoned stuffing croutons 1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 tsp. salt 1 sm. onion, sliced 1 med. apple, pared, cored and chopped 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 med. carrot, grated 3 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. hot water 1 c. mushrooms (optional) Beat egg with milk; stir in 1/2 cup croutons. Let stand 5 minutes. Mix in ground beef and salt until well blended. Press into a 9-inch pie pan, making a 1/2-inch high edge. Saute onion, apple, celery, and carrot in butter just until onion is soft. Stir in water and remaining croutons. Spoon into meat shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Pour off any drippings. |
