1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in applesauce
3 c. flour
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 c. walnuts
2 c. raisins
Pinch of salt

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Gradually add applesauce. Add flour a cup at a time. Add spices. Add nuts and raisins. Blend well. Bake in tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
