DUTCH APPLE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. evaporated milk
2 c. finely chopped apples

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together and fold in apples.

TOPPING: 1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 tbsp. sugar

Sprinkle topping over cake. Bake 40 minutes.
