PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH APPLE CRUMB
CAKE
 
1/2 c. creamed butter
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. milk
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
Apple slices

TOPPING:

3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. butter

Cream butter. Gradually add mixture of flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Mix thoroughly. Beat eggs with milk and add to mixture. Spread batter in pan and cover with apple slices.

Mix topping ingredients together until they form coarse crumbs. Top with crumbs and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes (use an 8 inch pan--double recipe and use 9x13 pan).
