CHRISTOPHER'S FAVORITE BROWNIES 
3/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
4 sq. (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 lg. eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped pecans or walnuts

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease 8x8x2 inch pan. In saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter and chocolate. Stir continually (do not boil). Remove from heat and stir in sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir until blended. Stir in combined mixture of flour, baking powder and salt. Then add nuts. Mix until dry ingredients are moistened.

Pour into pan. Bake 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely before slicing. If desired, may add miniature marshmallows to brownies immediately after removal from oven and cover with chocolate icing.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

3/4 box confectioners' sugar
3/4 stick butter (room temp.)
1 tsp. vanilla
1-2 tbsp. milk
