GARLIC FRIED CHICKEN | |
2 1/2 to 3 lb. cut up chicken 1 c. sour cream 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice 1 tsp. celery salt 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 2 tsp. paprika 1/3 c. shortening 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 3/4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt Combine sour cream, lemon juice, salt, celery salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Place chicken pieces in flat dish. Pour sour cream mixture over all pieces - covering each well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Drain. Dredge in flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Melt shortening in 8 x 12 x 2 inch baking pan and put in chicken. Bake at 400 degrees for 70 minutes until done, turning to brown each side. |
