TOMATO BEEF STEW | |
2 tbsp. flour 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 2 lbs. beef, cubed 2 tbsp. shortening 3 c. water 1 can (1 1/4 c.) condensed tomato soup 6 sm. onions 6 sm. carrots 3 potatoes, quartered Combine flour, salt and pepper; roll meat in this mixture. Brown meat in shortening in a heavy saucepan. Add water; cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add soup, onions, carrots and potatoes; cook until vegetables are tender, about 1/2 hour. Serves 6. |
