RAISIN BARS | |
1 c. raisins 2 c. water 1/2 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1 3/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. chopped nuts Boil raisins in 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Add butter when mixture is hot. Cool. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture, stir well. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes in 9x13 pan. EASY CARAMEL FROSTING: 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. milk 1 3/4 to 2 c. powdered sugar Melt butter, stir in brown sugar and boil for 2 minutes stirring constantly. Stir in milk until smooth. Remove from heat, add powdered sugar. |
