WHOLE WHEAT DATE PUDDING 
Hazel says that this was one of Roman's favorites.

4 c. water
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 to 1 lb. chopped dates
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Pinch of salt

Boil sugar and water for 5 minutes. Add flour, slowly stir in dates and boil 15 minutes longer, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, add nuts and pour into wet mold. Chill and serve with whipped cream.
