YUMMY YAMS 
2 c. cooked mashed sweet potatoes
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sugar

TOPPING:

1 (8 oz.) bottle Maraschino cherries, chopped with juice
1 (7 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
1 tbsp. cornstarch

Mix the first 6 ingredients and place in buttered 2 quart casserole dish. make the topping by mixing all 3 ingredients and cook over moderate heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Spread topping over potato mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
