PREACHER'S CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water

Cream sugar and shortening thoroughly. Add beaten eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add by adding alternately with sour milk, beating well after each addition. Fold in boiling water and add vanilla. Place in greased and floured loaf pan or 3 round pans. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes. Frost when cool.

QUICK FUDGE ICING:

1/2 stick butter
1/4 c. milk
3 c. confectioners' sugar, sifted
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter. Add milk and heat until warm. Mix cocoa and sugar. Stir slowly into liquid. Add vanilla and beat with spoon until it is the right consistency to spread.
