1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt

Take small amounts of dough and form a ball about the size of a walnut and place on greased cookie sheets allowing room for spreading. Bake at 325 degrees.
