LETTUCE SALAD 
1 head lettuce, torn in bite-size pieces
1 c. diced celery
1 onion, sliced thin
1-1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
4 oz. grated cheese
1 c. diced pepper
1 (10 oz.) peas, uncooked
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. bacon bits

Layer vegetables as given in a 9 x 12 inch dish. Spread mayonnaise on top. Sprinkle sugar over mayonnaise. Top with cheese and bacon bits. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
