DROP OR ROLLED COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla extract; mix thoroughly.

Roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut with floured cookie cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheet, 350 degree oven, about 10 minutes. Chill dough before rolling. Lift with spatula to keep shape.

Drop Cookies: Omit 1/2 cup flour. Drop from spoon onto greased cookie sheet.
