6 med. tart apples, cored & sliced
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 stick butter
1 c. chopped walnuts
Whipped cream

Combine apples, sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl. Sprinkle 1/4 cup dry cake mix over apples, toss until coated. Spoon onto buttered baking pan, 8"x8"x2"; cover. Bake for 30 minutes, remove from oven. Mix remaining cake mix and walnuts in a medium sized bowl. Drizzle melted butter over cake mix, toss until mixture forms large crumbs. Sprinkle over partly cooked apple mixture. Bake 20 minutes longer or until topping is puffed and golden. Cool slightly, serve warm with whipped cream.
