ISLAND TERIYAKI 
1 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. salad oil
2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground pepper
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 lb. sirloin steak, 1" thick

Combine first six ingredients in a deep bowl; mix well. Add steak, toss gently to coat. Let stand for 2 hours at room temperature. Cut steak in strips. Thread strips on skewers, accordian style. Broil over hot coals for 5 to 6 minutes, turning frequently. Yield: 4 servings.
