FRENCH CHERRY DESSERT 
3 egg whites
1 c. granulated sugar
20 soda crackers, crushed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 box instant topping mix, prepared
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 can cherry pie filling

Beat egg whites until stiff; gradually add sugar and beat well. Mix well the crackers, vanilla, vinegar, baking powder and pecans; add to egg white mixture. Spread in 9"x13" greased pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool.

Prepare instant topping mix according to package directions. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla and cream cheese. Beat until smooth. Spread over baked egg white mixture. Spoon cherry pie filling over this. Refrigerate. Serves 12 to 15.
