HOMEMADE WHITE BREAD | |
8 c. flour 1 pkg. yeast 3 c. lukewarm milk 2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. white Crisco Heat milk and Crisco on stove until lukewarm. Meanwhile, mix all dry ingredients together. Add milk mixture to it. Mix. May add a little more flour if dough is too sticky. Knead 10 minutes. Place dough in a greased bowl and let rise in a warm place. Shape dough and place into lightly oiled pans. Let rise again. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. No fail dough: Can make round loaves, clover leaf rolls, braided loaf -- easy to work with. |
