GINGERSNAPS 
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. molasses
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and molasses; beat well. Add dry ingredients; mix thoroughly.

For Gingersnaps, shape into balls and roll in sugar. Can also be rolled out, baked and frosted.

Bake 10 minutes in 350 degree oven on greased cookie sheet. Makes 6 dozen.
