BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES 
1 gal. cucumbers
8 sm. white onions
1 green pepper

Slice and cover with water, add 1/2 cup salt. Mix and leave for 3 hours. Drain.

SYRUP:

1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 tbsp. mustard
5 c. vinegar
3 c. sugar

Boil syrup, add cucumber mixture and bring to boil, remove from heat and pack in hot jars. Makes 6 pints.
