12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional) 3/4 c. canned sweetened condensed milk 1 tsp. vanilla Dash of salt In a double boiler over hot, not boiling water, melt chocolate pieces, 5 minutes. Stir in with a rubber scraper nuts, condensed milk, vanilla and salt. Cool mixture about 5 minutes until easy to shape. With greased hands, shape into 1-inch balls. Dip balls into chopped nuts, flaked coconut, or chocolate sprinkles. HEAVENLY TRUFFLES: Prepare recipe as above but after mixing, pour mixture into a greased and waxed paper lined 9x5 inch loaf pan. Cool several hours. When firm, cut into squares. |
