APPLE CAKE WITH CARAMEL SAUCE 
CAKE:

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flour
Cinnamon
4 to 5 apples, peeled and diced

TOPPING:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk

Mix together cake ingredients, spread in 9 x 13 pan, bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Cook topping until it comes to a rolling boil. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Serve warm cake with ice cream and caramel sauce.
