INDIVIDUAL SAUSAGE PIES (SERVES
8)
 
1 lb. sausage meat
4 med. tomatoes, cut in half
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. milk

Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl; add shortening and blend in with a fork. Add milk. Turn into floured board. Knead until it can be rolled out, about 3 or 4 times. Roll to 1/8 inch thickness; cut into 8 squares. Divide sausage into each square.

Fold dough around edges. Place a tomato half on top of each and sprinkle with a bit of salt. Place on baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes. Serve hot.
