HUNGARIAN COFFEE CAKE | |
1/2 of Typical Sweet Dough or all of Richer Sweet Dough 1/2 cup Butter, Melted 3/4 cup Sugar 1 tsp. Cinnamon 1/2 cup Finely Chopped Nuts 1/2 cup Raisins Cut dough into pieces the size of walnuts. Form into balls. Roll each in butter, then in sugar, cinnamon and nuts mixed. Place 1 layer of balls in well greased deep 9-inch tube center pan so they barely touch. Sprinkle with a few raisins. Add another layer of balls, sprinkle more raisins in crevices pressing them in slightly. Cover and let rise until light (45 min). Bake, loosen from pan with spatula. Invert pan so butter-sugar runs down over it. To serve, break apart. Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes. |
