BANANA PRUNE CAKE 
2/3 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. mashed fully ripe bananas
2/3 c. milk
2 eggs
1 c. cooked prunes, chopped
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening, add sugar and cream well. Add eggs, one at a time, then banana; alternately add milk and flour mixed with baking powder, soda and salt. Fold in prunes and nuts. Bake either in layer cake pans or 13 x 9 inch pan. Frost with a seafoam frosting and sprinkle with some chopped nuts.
