SCALLOPED CABBAGE 
1 medium cabbage, shredded
1/2 stick butter
1 tbsp. sugar
salt & pepper to taste
3 c. milk
3 tbsp. corn starch
grated cheese

Place cabbage in a saucepan with butter, sugar, salt and pepper. Cook until tender. Add 3 cups milk; bring to a boil. Stir in cornstarch mixed with a small amount of milk. Pour into a casserole; top with cheese.

Bake at 350 to 375°F until cheese browns.

Note: I use less milk usually as it doesn't seem to thicken properly. Maybe I don't use enough cabbage. (From Sandy.)
