SWEDISH ALMOND TOAST 
1 c. butter (2 sticks)
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 tsp. almond extract
5 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
1 c. chopped almonds

Beat together butter and sugar well. Beat in 2 eggs and almond extract. Sift flour, soda, and salt; add alternately with sour cream, adding nuts with last addition of flour. Pat on lightly floured board and shape into a loaf (French bread size). Divide into 6 parts. Make each part into a roll and put 3 on each cookie sheet. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and slice 3/4 inch pieces diagonally like French bread. Turn on cut side and bake 8 to 10 minutes. Take out of oven and turn to other cut side and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Should be golden brown.
